Home is where the dress is.

3 family-owned boutiques, one perfect dress.

Pacific Northwest - Seattle

Our original location is located in Green Lake, just north of downtown Seattle in a 1918 building, a cute and charming spot that is as PNW as it gets. Voted Seattle's Best Bridal Shop 2013 and 2014 by Seattle Bride Magazine, it's a cozy escape from the drizzly rain and conjures the feeling of an old Parisian loft. This beloved shop is where we first fell in love with this business and our brides, where we did a whole lot of learning, laughing, loving, crying, and ordering take out after long nights. Give us a ring at 206-550-7948 to schedule your appointment. To schedule conveniently online for our Seattle boutique, please click here to schedule online

Southern - Nashville

Our Second baby, this boutique opened in 2014. We absolutely adore our southern brides and we truly "believe in Nashville." We're practicing our 'y'alls' and doing our best to catch up on all of the souther cuisine we've missed out on - here's looking at you, sweet tea and hot chicken. It's a blast meeting out-of-town brides who come to Nashville for exploring or their bachelorette party weekend and visit us for wedding dress shopping. California - San Diego

Last but certainly not least, our third store location actually felt a lot like coming home. We grew up nearby and our family is still living in the Mission Hills neighborhood. So yes, this means we get to help old friends find their dream dress and have Grandma over to try on feathery capes on holidays after dinner. We love the San Diego sunshine and officially invite you to stay around after your appointment and sip some bubbly with us on our porch. Call us at 619-876-5018 or email to make an appointment.

We have three, family-owned locations: Seattle, Nashville, San Diego; cities that are near and dear to our family’s heart. Please choose your boutique location below to get scheduled for an appointment. We'll see you soon! In the mean time, let's stay in touch on instagram (@thedresstheory) and our blog.

Yes. Our boutiques are open by  appointment only seven days a week. You have to schedule in advance, but you will have all of our complete attention!

Our appointments are 90 minutes. We've found that is the perfect amount to discuss your style and vision, try approximately six to eight carefully chosen gowns, try on any "favorites" that need to be revisited, and trust your gut and decide on your dress! For many of our brides, an hour and a half appointment is enough time to feel decisive, excited, and not rushed. If you need a second appointment, we understand and we are happy to schedule you a shorter second appointment to come back in.

A bride dreaming of whimsical long sleeves. A daring, cut-out back. Fine fabrics, exquisite tailoring. Champagne.

These are a few of our favorite things.

Welcome to The Dress Theory: Nontraditional, never-repeated, mold-breaking, confidence-inducing dresses proudly served here.

Around here we think that finding your wedding dress should be a personalized, memorable experience. We believe that a professional stylist and and a beautiful, intimate setting are the ultimate power couple.  And we’re pretty sure you’ll agree.

We have three, family-owned locations: Seattle, Nashville, San Diego; cities that are near and dear to our family’s heart. We’re driven by a love of brides and a love of personal style and we open our arms wide to brides who aren’t afraid to be themselves. If the word “unique” wasn’t thrown around so much in this industry, we’d use it to describe our collection. But instead, let’s go with: hand-picked, edited, and inspired. We tirelessly curate from new and sought-after designers, and our prices range from $1600 to $9,000, with most gowns between $2200 to $4200.

You’re not the type of woman to settle, so why start now?

The Dress Theory was born the way most great ideas are: while shopping.

While trying to find my own wedding dress, I (Camille here, Hi!) was so frustrated and disappointed by the slim pickings out there for cool, stylish, me options. Especially when I saw so much innovation and creativity in the other wedding industries: vendors, photographers, stylists, planners, etc. I didn’t want to just look like someone’s idea of a bride, I wanted to look like myself; my best self.  And I had a feeling I wasn’t alone. So I did what all sane people do: two weeks after my own wedding (plus a honeymoon to Paris in between), my husband and I opened our first boutique in Seattle.  We watched as our vision came to life and stylish, confident, and discerning brides found a haven in our boutique. So when we moved to Nashville in 2013, we opened our second store. Not long after, my sister opened our third boutique in San Diego—our first home.  Being able to do this together has been more fun than I can even express and I fall in love with our boutiques (and brand) every time I walk through the door. So 3 stores and 2.5 years after that shopping-inspired idea, here we are: happy and obsessed.

What you’ll find a lot of around here:

  • Exquisite fabrics, french laces, luxe silk.

  • Stunning options for indoor, outdoor, and destination weddings.

  • Unique, non-traditional cuts and shapes (think: chic and modern, boho beautiful, sexy, vintage-inspired.

  • Excitement

  • Relief

  • Highly specialized bridal stylists who are tireless and passionate.

  • The freedom for you to define what bridal looks like and means to you

  • A magical eye for fresh, new styles and trends that are still timeless and will look gorgeous in your photos in 50, 60, 70 years.  Yes, it’s possible.

What you won’t see much of:

  • Structured, strapless, traditional gowns.

  • A retail or franchise feel. Really though. Everything in our boutiques is genuinely, authentically us and what we love.

  • Boredom.

Summer Wynn

Summer is a die-hard San Diegan. She loves candles, hand-written notes, and can almost always be seen wearing a touch of pink (the color of her wedding dress, in fact). It was she who forced me to go wedding dress shopping when I was a busy student who hated all of the boutiques and salons we’d been to. Thank goodness for her nudge since that’s how The Dress Theory came to be. When she’s not bouncing around the store with her long blonde hair perfectly curled, you can find her getting her nails done, walking her dog Winston, or daydreaming of Italy.

Camille Wynn

Growing up in a family that owned small businesses, it’s clear that Camille inherited her entrepreneurial spirit. She has a background in arts, photography, and fashion, and her favorite way to unwind is dancing in the kitchen and whipping up a new recipe with her husband with whom she started dating at age 15. The Dress Theory name was inspired by her college blog, The Lovely Theory (take a peek!). She still has to pinch herself that this is her job. And when she's not at the shops, she also a freelance art director, stylist, and blogger. She is an iced-coffee and vogue magazine addict and no, she doesn’t try on the dresses. Ok at least not very often.

We’re so thrilled you’re here.
