About The Dress Theory

The Dress Theory is a sweet and charming bridal boutique in Seattle, Washington! Our shop is open by private appointment only, which also means you will have our entire shop to yourself during your bridal appointment. Isn't that just the greatest?! We know it's polite to share... But how nice is it to NOT share your bridal appointment?! Our collection includes dresses by Claire Pettibone, Sarah Seven, Jenny Packham, Modern Trousseau, Ivy & Aster, Elizabeth Dye, Nicole Miller, Winifred Bean, and Katie May. One of our favorite thing about many of these designers... their dresses are still made in the USA and the designers are actually still involved in the design process. We love when you support our small business, so we love to support mega-talented small business designers too!
Just a little background info -
The Dress Theory Bridal Shop first opened in August 2012 by newlyweds Camille and Alex, shortly after their own wedding. We are talking literally days after returning from their honeymoon! Camille found a sense of peace after her wedding dress shopping experience. Not only did she find her dream wedding dress back in her hometown in Southern California (from Bliss Bride in San Diego to be exact, the best boutique in Southern California if you ask us), but she finally found a career calling for her life that made her felling truly inspired. A few days after her appointment, she started planning her wedding and the bridal boutique that would become The Dress Theory. She wanted aimed to create an environment that was beautiful and easy going, and to fill it with the dresses by designers she could not find in Seattle during her own search.
Oh, and if you are wondering where our shop's name came from like many others (seriously it's one of the top questions we're asked in the shop, only behind "where did you find this amazing location?"), Camille started a personal blog called The Lovely Theory what feels like many, many moons ago. Although this blog never received much attention from Camille, it's always something she wished she spent more time on and wanted to develop. When it came time to pick a name and everything else was taken or felt "too trendy" (who wants a dated business name in 10 years?!), this rather dusty personal blog became the inspiration for the name!
